GLEN CHAMBERS
DEFENSE

NUMBER: 9
SHOOTS: Right
HEIGHT: 6’00”
WEIGHT: 170
BORN: Williamsburg, Virginia
LIVES: Toms River, New Jersey
ACQUIRED: Drafted fourth (1996). One of the four remaining original Pirates from when the team was formed.
BIO: Glen first started playing hockey at Eatontown with the Redheads. The Redheads lasted just one season when the team was sold and renamed to the Coastal Pirates. It soon became apparent that Glen brought more to the team than just his presense on the ice and he was awarded an “A” (alternate captain) to his jersey the following season. He was named to the All-Star team in second season at Eatontown and is still known in Pirate history as the player who scored the game-winning shootout goal in the Semifinals at Eatontown (which led the Pirates to their first-ever Championship). After playing his whole career as a winger, Glen came back to defense a give some strength to the defensive corps. Glen’s nearly suffered a career-threatening injury at Eatonton when he tore his cartilage in his knee on the newly resurfaced floor, but he staged a successful comeback the next year.
