HARRIS SIEGEL
GOALTENDER

NUMBER: 88
CATCHES: Right
HEIGHT: 5’8”
WEIGHT: 142.5
BORN: Allentown, Pennsylvania
LIVES: Neptune, New Jersey
ACQUIRED: Drafted second (1996). One of the original Pirates from when the team was formed.
BIO: Along with Scooby and Dave Matthews, Harris is one of the original Pirates who played on all three surfaces (Wall, Belmar and Eatontown). He has been backstopping the Pirates since their inception into the league and he not-so-fondly remembers the weekly trouncings they experienced during their first seasons. More recently, however, Harris has seen the team become a playoff force and he has been in net for all six Pirate League Championships. Like Martin Brodeur, Harris is known for his stickhandling ability and he has also been likened to Islanders’ great Billy Smith for his ability to take it up a notch during big games.
MOST INFLUENCED BY:
Vladislav Tretiak, Ken Dryden and Patrick Roy.
QUOTE: My father’s early goaltending advice to me: “Stop posing for pictures, get up off the ground!”
