WEDNESDAYS #3 vs. PUMPKINS:

It looked like halloween on the ice last night as the rink was filled with orange and black jerseys and bodies flying everywhere. the Smashing Pumpkins (who won the League Title two seasons ago) were coming off a 6-0 win against the Stars and expected to roll over us — no can do.

We played a strong defensive game allowing just one goal in the 1st period (a rebound) and another midway through the 2nd (off a faceoff during a penalty kill). We played physical, although maybe Glenn Farkas played a bit TOO physical, as he was ejected for fighting and assessed a 4:00-minute major. we killed the penalty and with less than a minute Dave Matthews banged a slapshot off the post — fortunately for the Pumpkins they got a quick whistle as the rebound bounced around the crease.
