The Coastal Pirates bounced back to their winning
ways when the Wednesday team played a rare Monday night contest. They avenged
last season's playoff loss by besting the Ducks in a back-and-forth game
that also doubed this season's win total. Craig Sudol would lead the way
with his first hattrick as a Pirate.
Two complete lines benefited us tonight, as we were able to keep the lines
fresh and rolling. The D was Russ-Dave with Keith-Scooby making
up the second pair. The forward lines consisted of the Miller Bros. bracketing
Jimmy Ferraro; the second line was Wildman centering Chris Goione and Craig
(this line would account for six points tonight).
The Pirates maintained the lead throughout the evening, but even our two-goal
leads appeared to evaporate quickly as it seemed that every time we scored,
they came right back to tighten-up the game. Along with the three from Craig,
Jimmy and Wildman would add the other goals. The Pirates now have an opportunity
to post an undefeated week and near the elusive .500 mark when they play
their second game in two nights against the Coyotes on Wednesday.
