The game was almost a repeat of the Championships, with strong defensive
play by the Pirates. We matched their first goal on a powerplay with strong
play in front of the net; Rusty poking a rebound into the net. After a quick
reply from Micro, we held them to a 2-1 score for most of the game.
We just could not get the bounces going our way in the offensive zone, We
had few chances, but many rebounds and passes just jumped over sticks or
barely missed open men in front. Having a short bench (only two subs), we
hung in against a much faster team, but at the end the monkey jumped on
our backs and Micro took advantage with a 5:00-minute scorefest at the end
of the game. Final score we lost they won.
