2W, no. 9; newsletter by j.c.)
We had a full house: four defenseman and six forwards. The 1st period was
scary in the beginning as the Pirates mounted attack after attack without
a goal to show for it. Then the Crunch opened the scoring after having next
to no chances. We continued ringing the posts as if we were sponsoring a
xylophone concert. We had twogoals taken away from us by the referee's,
and it felt like the game was going to be decided by a Butterfly Ballot.
Rusty scored a goal and we settled down and carried the play for most of
the game. Brian, Scott, and Glen line (any nicknames for lines would be
appreciated) then cashed in twice to go ahead and give us the important
3rd period insurance goal.
THE
SILVER
SKULLS
1) BRIAN
KLEIMAN
For scoring the game-winning and insurance goals.
2)
RUSS NICOLOSI
For getting us on the board and tying the game.
3)
EVERYONE ELSE
This
is tough because everyone played well and deserved a star. Hard work digging
the boards and getting to rebounds was the order of the day. The Defense Corps
was solid and 2-way. I haven't seen that much passing since they allowed dribbling
in basketball. The Beer can smashing celebration in the parking lot had to
be the third highlight though.
