Chippy, chippy, chippy. That would be a good description of last night's
game against one of our division's top-ranked teams. Unfortunately, we didn't
benefit from the calls which were definitely plentiful we were on
the penalty kill four times (the Sabres had only one penalty).
Even with all the time shorthanded (including a 5-on-3 during the 1st),
the game was gridlocked at 0-0 until midway in the 2nd. That's when they
were able to tuck a scramble in the crease that was stuck underneath Dan
Pomphrey and me for the lead.
That 1-goal lead held all the way until the final 4:00 minutes when Glenn
Farkas shot one of his "impossible" angle shots from the goal-line
that bounced off John Arena and back to Glenn who bounced the rebound off
Arena's back for the tying goal. All-in-all, it was a 3-point weekend for
the Pirates.
