We were were hoping to avenge our only loss this season last night during
our rematch against the Bad Boyz (they beat us 3-2 in Game #2). We got on
the board first at the 10:00-minute mark when Russ took advantage of a defensive-zone
turnover and beat goalie Dave Kurasz for the 1-0 lead.
We took that lead into the break (thanks to awesome "D" by Scott,
Dave and Roger), but the Bad Boyz answered back in the 2nd during a scramble
by our crease (that had one of their players sitting on my freakin' glove)
to even things up 1-1. Great end-to-end action (opportunities by Scooby
& Jimmy and persistent work by Farkas against the boards) highlighted
the 2nd, but the only other score was a redirection by Wildman (off another
Russ shot) to give us back the lead heading into the 2nd break.
With just about 8:00 minutes left, however, the Bad Boyz did some digging
behind our net and found an open man in front for the one-timer to tie things
up at 2-2. (This game was getting eerily like our first meeting when we
also had the 2-1 lead going deep into the 3rd and gave up two quick goals!)
This time, however, we stood tough and got out with a point in the standings
against a team that had allowed only four goals in their first three games
