From the start our offensive was swarming in the Crunch zone. BB, Scott
and Chris kept things moving agressively and it was only a matter of time
until we scored. The first of the game was a beautiful backhand move by
Chris to beat the goalie (looking a little bit like Gretzky on that particular
move ...). Our big 1st period continued when Scott Miller capitalized on
an Eddie Gesior penalty and fired a shot for a powerplay goal. Chris added
his second of the night on a feed from Russ to give us a comfortable 3-0
lead at the first break.
The Crunch challenged in the 2nd, but Roger, Dave, Big Jim and Rob (he's
back this season) kept most of the shots at a distance. It looked like Russ
scored a couple of times in that period, although the lack of video review
seemed to work in favor of the Crunch and the 3-0 score held at the second
break.
We got our scoring touch back late in the 3rd period when Roger went coast-to-coast
and got the benefit of an errant bounce off a Crunch defenseman for his
first point of the new season. And, after all those questionable calls,
#99 got on the board for our final goal and his fourth in two games.
THE
SILVER

1) CHRIS
GOIONE
For becoming the team sniper with a pair of goals.
2) SCOTT MILLER
For keeping his scoring touch going.
3)
BRIAN KLEIMAN
For a lot of close calls and good hustle, but mainly for changing into his
gamegear in 2.5 minutes a new team record!
