(In this issue of the newsletter, Wildman attempts to recount the night.
As he noted in a message later to me, you should keep in mind when reading
his version of events that Wildman "was hit pretty good in the head
and I had been drinking at the Giant game earlier...").
The short version: Glenn Farkas cranked a slap shot and Chris G. pounced
on the rebound and scored.
Long version: We dominated early and had nothing to show for it, just couldn't
get the puck in.... Blizzard went up 1-0, then some flukey goals (and us
forwards getting a little too hungry staying a little too far up the ice...)
and it was 3-1. It would have been 3-to-2 at one point, but someone stepped
offside while I was taking my 20-minute windup while shooting. Please refrain
from stepping over the blueline until AFTER I have had my beer and pretzels...
(I was going to say tea and crackers but......) After that we just got tired
and they beat us (physically....) and also got to pucks before we did....
Also the bouncing puck caused a lot of turnovers, and they got the better
breaks. Kudos to Roger for taking penalties with intent to injure and Scott
LeMatty who almost scored with three guys covering him on more than one
occasion.
THE
SILVER
SKULLS
1) CHRIS
GOIONE
A great night all night, but his tying goal in the waning moments of the game
made him the game's hero.
2)
GLENN FARKAS
For his 2-way player had a great night on both sides of the blueline.
3)
DAN POMPHREY
He
also had great play up and back, and his tally gives him the Pirate goal scoring
lead so far.
