There are some nights when everything just falls your way. Why this happens no one really knows: The stars align properly or maybe it's even the way you put your equipment on that night. But when those games happen, every bounce seems to just go your way. And so it was just that type of game the Pirates were to have when the lined-up to face the Jaguars. Harris was not in attendance for this one, so Doug Collimore filled-in between the pipes (you may remember that the last time Doug played as a Pirate the game — and his season — ended in a painful fashion when he went down making a 1st period save).
The goals were plentiful for the Pirates, and pucks were going in from just about everywhere on the rink. Kevin, not surprisingly, had a hattrick and John, Russ, and Bobby had a pair of goals each. Just to round things out, LeMatty, and Ralz each had a goal of their own. The defense was stingy, and Doug only surrendered one goal.
It was just one of those nights. And when it was all over the Pirates had a whopping 11-1 victory for their efforts.
