(vol.
23S, no. 9; newsletter by b.n.)
For those of you paying attention, this newsletter is a little late. So be it. Harris is probably rather mad at me because it won't include some kind of Thanksgiving recipe submitted by Gucci's Girl (aka Debbie), where the punch line is that the ass blows off the turkey when you stuff it with popcorn. Whoops, my apologies.
Anyway, the Coastal Pirates closed-out the Sunday regular season against A Few Good Men. The last time the Pirates played those guys, the game ended 9:00 minutes early after their goalie took a shellacking. This time around (and I really hate to write a newsletter like this, considering I have used this same format so many times this season) it went like this:
1st #67 (wildman)
1st keith (russ)
3rd nick (farkas)
3rd lematty (none)
3rd wildman (farkas)
factoids: Our first 3 goals were scored by defensemen; Harris logged his 25th career shutout; #67 spent more time on his knees, then on his skates.
By the way, after the game Mark Segal thanked the Pirates for taking it easy on them.
date of game: 11.21.05
THE
SILVER
SKULLS
1) BRIAN NEWCOMB
For his best knee-scraping effort on “D” to date — #67 was literally wiping the floor while making one heroic defensive play on the blueline after another.
2) JOHN CASSENS
For his 2-point night.
3) HARRIS
For his second shutout this season vs. A Few Good Men.
