What's this? Another Pirates game to write about? That's our second in two nights and it'll be three for the week by Wednesday. The good news is that we had a full roster for this outing. Yes, all the Disciples were there: The defense consisted of Dave-Keith and Gucci-Chachi; while on up front were the two formidable lines of Chris-Russ-Craig and Wildman-Jimmy-Scott Miller (The other half of the Bros. Miller, Evan, was a spectator due to a bad rib he suffered in last week's outing).
This game was yet another methodical win for the Pirates who have now reeled-off four-in-a-row to raise their record to 4-3. Much like Sunday's game, the Pirates take a 3-0 lead in the 1st period (although it wasn't quite as quick as Sunday's 180-second effort). Unlike Sunday though, this time we were able to carry that 3-0 lead into the break. Once again Russ would get on the score sheet in a big way as he tallied three assists on the evening. Craig notched two goals — including the gamewinner — and one assist as well. Jimmy and Chris rounded-out the scoring.
The game ended 5-3 and the Wave managed to claw slowly back into the game, including closing the gap to 3-2 at one point in the final period. The ending was never really in doubt though as the Pirates maintained control throughout. So the “holiday hattrick” concludes this Wednesday with the Passover game where the Wednesday Pirates “drive for five.” Till next time ...
