(vol.
34W, no. 3; newsletter by s.m.)
And now we proudly present a newsletter by none-other than #31, the “Master of the Pulled-Pork” — Scott Miller!
Here are some flashes from last week. We started out with myself , LeMatty & Marty and I centered (which is rare) and the other line was Kev, Wildman & Dave. On “D” was Gucci, Baio & Mike. We got off to a great start and before you know it, the score was 4-0. On one of the face-offs at center ice, I pushed the puck up and skated towards their goalie when two of their D's skated towards me; I passed the puck to Marty at the last second who was flying down the right wing and he wristed a quick shot for the goal. Some of the other goals was a nice shot from the point by Baio and Kevin of course had a nice goal and so did Wildman.
In the 2nd half, they were outhustling us and all of a sudden it was 5-4 with about 2:00-minutes left. After some pressure by them (and with their goalie on the bench for the extra skater), from our own zone LeMatty got the puck and I skated up the middle; he lifted it up towards the goal and it was a race by me and one of their guys ... since he was right on me, the only way I thought I could win was dive — and so i did while their “D” was diving as well. I stretched out as far as I could and pushed the puck with my stick into the goal with their guy practically on my back. When I saw the puck in the net, I looked at him and said “Thanks for the ride!” There was about :45 seconds left after this and we held them off.
