It was just one short season ago, when Team One (or Team 1) rattled off an undefeated regular season (and that was in the “A” division). The Pirates? Well everyone knows that going into the game the other night they were 0-2 for the new season. So you can pretty much figure the outcome, right? Well, sometimes when the unstoppable force meets the immovable object, something unlikely happens. For the Pirates, it was Eddie Gesior. Sure, Team 1 only had five skaters — but they were all their good quality skaters.
So as mentioned just a few words ago, it was Gesior who took a puck from inside his own blueline and “flipped” it on net ... and in the crazy mixed up world we live in, the puck found a hole and went in. Only minutes later it was Gesior again — this time he crashed the net and as he turned around to skate back to the zone, the puck came to him and he buried that one too.
Ahh ... but from that point forward it was all One (or 1) as they rattled-off the next 3 goals. In fact, it was looking kind of dire as the Pirates were
trailing 3-2 with under 4:00 minutes to go. But then #67 took a face-off in the offensive zone and the puck ended-up in the net. And then it was
Eddie Gesior stepping-up once again, firing a shot from the point that LeMatty buried for the winning tally.
The End. Or is it?
