(vol.
41W, no. 9; newsletter by b.n.)
This is the Wednesday newsletter . . . Well sort of as things go however ... It is actually for Monday. ... And the only reason I mention that is because I am in the process of writing two newsletters. And since i have been accused of never actually writing about the actual game, there could be a legitimate concern that someone may be confused about what game I was writing about. Like I care about that ...
Well, it was a Playoff game ... And ... it ... was ... against ... Tony ... (and ... if ... you ... don't ... know ... what ... I ... am ... talking ... about ... then ... you ... don't ... know ... Tony ). Man, that is freakin' annoying. Did i mention that we were playing Tony's team? Yeah, I guess I did. Did i mention that the score was tied 0-0 after the 1st period? No, i guess i did not.
At some point in the final period (it might have been the opening face-off), Wildman took the face-off at center ice ... Intercepted a back pass ... Made a nice deke and then rocketed the puck top shelf. Not a bad shorthanded goal. Tony's team would tie it up. And then things got exciting. Harris made some great saves in a strong effort. As the period began to wind down ... Russ fired off a nice hard shot that left a nice juicy rebound that #67 would bury to give the Pirates the lead. Did I mention Tony? Usually I do ... But not usually with the word thug included (like: “Man that guy Tony is a great player, but he is such a thug!”) . It was like he was a member of the old “Broad Street Bullies” or something. Man ... I thought him and #67 were friends ... You would never know it by the way the “Not So Great 8” tried to run #67 into the boards ... Hmmm now that you mention it, Tony's season has ended just like Ovechkin's ... Out of the Playoffs! Final Score: Pirates 2, Tony's Team 1
