SUNDAYS #6 vs. TEAM MICRO:

(vol. 1S, no. 6; newsletter by h.s.)
Team Micro went into last night's game in second-place with a 4-1 season record. Add to that only ten goals scored against them the whole season and you have a pretty formidable enemy.

Here's the recap: We played them tight with a lot of hustle, but a delayed penalty with 3 minutes left in the 1st, resulted in a faceoff in our zone (my bad). a low, slapper that bounced over my paddle put them on the board first with a powerplay goal.

The highlight of the 2nd — besides our consistent pressure — was Rob's slapshot high stickside, that tied the score. Rob had been saying that was their goalie's only weakness, and he followed his own advice.

This time when the 3rd period came we didn't let up: we were first to loose pucks and we continued to own the corners. Some great hustle by Wildman, and then the finish by Ralz, gave us the lead midway through the 3rd. We kept cool — even as they began to unwind — and we killed off key penalties and a 6-man advantage to continue our Sunday win-streak at three games.

WON 2-1

1) TIM HAND
For the game-winner. 'Nuff said.

2) ROB ARMSWOOD
His great shot to get us on the board and make it a game.

3) ROGER WEISS
For one hell of a great defensive effort and never losing his cool with tons of pressure towards the end.
