Using this as a preparation game for Sunday's championship matchup, we quickly
jumped out to 4-0 lead against the hybrid Canadien/Blackhawk team. Brian
Newcomb (who played with us the final two weeks of the Wednesday league),
began the scoring and also was responsible for great feeds throughout the
night, including one to Roger which led to a breakaway score. Russ continued
his playoff scoring streak and Glen Chambers (who will be in the lineup
for Sunday) also had a goal.
After our 1st period barrage, the only other score came from the Habs with
5:00 minutes remaining in the 3rd.
Most of the drama last night was injury-related: from Wildman (after stopping
a slapshot) and Russ — both players are okay to play for Sunday.
