WEDNESDAYS #9 vs. BLACKHAWKS:

(vol. 1W, no. 9; newsletter by h.s.)
With only five men (including myself) and a regular season 6-2 loss against the Blackhawks, things were looking a little grim. then, Brian Newcomb (a “friend of the team”) decided to stay and before we knew it we were scoreless after the 1st period and we were looking pretty young out there.

The Blackhawks eventually broke the stalemate on a one-timer from the corner with their man standing on our doorstep.

Russ had a terrific powerplay chance in the 3rd to tie it up, but hit the crossbar. Soon after, Brian bobbed-and-weaved through the middle and had a shot and the rebound, but failed to put it away. Later in the third, the 'Hawks scored again — this time on a slapshot that ricocheted off the post and across the goaline.

LOST 2-0

THE
SILVER
SKULLS

1) BRIAN NEWCOMB
For playing for us and doing one hell of a great job.

2) GLEN CHAMBERS
For tough all-around play, and hustle.

3) GLENN FARKAS
For creating tons of chances, but for also keeping his cool after the 'Hawks targeted him for a lot of clutching and grabbing.
