WEDNESDAYS #10 vs. HOMICIDE:

(vol. 11W, no. 10; newsletter by b.n.)
Boy is I really don't feel like writing the newsletter this week, but unlike some people (who should remain nameless, but won't) I live up to my obligations. So let's get started. As I said, I don't feel like writing the newsletter, so I will have others write it for me. Let's start with Harris. Just before game time I got this e-mail:

guys --
I feel like crap and I'm heading home soon.
I'm not in any shape to play tonight. I spoke to collimore and he is definitely going to stay — he said he'll play for us or against us, it doesn't matter to him. I just spoke to scott baldwin and he doesn't know if the homicide is going
to have a goalie, but he said he'll ask the 9pm goalies and the other 10pm goalie (or whoever is there first can ask the guy on the misfits). also, we have like 10 positive responses to come tonight, but if you're short guys
(for the other team), then just invite some of the gerrys or misfits to stay.

Ok, Ok, Harris covered a lot of ground in his email, but the important thing to note is that Harris writes: “also, we have like 10 positive responses to come tonight.” Now Harris failed to mention whom those 10 responses are, but I can be fairly certain that he did not include himself in that list. Also, since #67 did not respond, I know that he was not included in the count.
Later in the day, I got the following from Russ:

nasty hang nail again??

Poor, Harris. Other than Roger, he seems to take the most abuse on the team. But that's not the important thing; let's assume that Russ has already emailed Harris and he is in fact one of the 10 that responded to Harris saying that he was coming.

Nope, but I am scheduled for a pedicure.

Hmmmm...
Well, I don't care to comment on Harris' personal hygiene habits, so let's just get to the next email.

I too, will not be there. Have fun.
Chris

Well, I have two words for Chris: WUSS! Whoops, that’s only one word. Let me fix that:
YOU WUSS!I think it is important to question at this point whether Chris was one of the 10 that responded to Harris saying that he was coming. I would think that it is unlikely that Chris would send an email to Harris saying that he is coming and then would turn around and send an email to everyone else that he was not.
That brings us to:

Well do to the fact that I don't see well enough at night to drive (according to Chris g.) and he is not playing, I respectfully bow out tonight as well. See you next week.

So it’s Chris's fault that Keith missed the game. I would be willing to bet that Keith was probably one of the 10 that responded to Harris saying that he was coming. But since he got the shaft from Chris, it would seem reasonable to expect that other than #67, there should have been 9 other skaters at game. So anyone care to guess how many there were?
10? No.
9? No.
8?? No.
7??? No.
6???! No.
5????!!! No.
4!!!!!!!!?!!
Well, other than #67, Russ and Wildman were the only ones who cared enough to show up.
Well, at least Chris and Keith sent an email.
The rest of you — and you know who you are — are WUSSES!
