SUNDAYS #3 vs. FLUKES:

(vol. 2S, no. 3; newsletter by j.c.)
In our new standard of playing three defensemen and 4 forwards we faced the Flukes Sunday. The Flukes got on the board first even though we were playing a tough defensive game against them. We put a decent amount of offensive pressure on them, but the Flukes managed to break up most of our plays. We hung in and Scott Miller cranked a shot on their goalie, the rebound dropped in the crease and Wildman poked the puck in to tie it up at 1-1 which was the score at the first break.

We continued a close defensive game, even though the Flukes were taking the body well, knocking us to the deck quite a bit. Rusty scored with a blistering shot which beat the goalie clean, but the Flukes later tied it up. We went into the 2nd intermission 2-2.

The game stayed tied until the last few minutes when the Flukes scored on a wrap-around to win it.

WON 3-2

THE
SILVER
SKULLS

1) RUSS NICOLOSI
For giving us the lead late in the game.

2) ROGER WEISS
and DAVE MATTHEWS

For having fought off the Flukes and keeping it close.

3) JOHN CASSENS
In a clear abuse of power, I'm giving myself a star for my garbage goal! Even Steve Vickers would be embarrassed to have that one on the highlight reel.
