SUNDAYS #6 vs. FLYERS:

(vol. 2S, no. 6; newsletter by h.s.)
Our 3-game Sunday unbeaten streak stayed intact (we've tied one and won twoin a row in the Sunday league), thanks to a great first period. Russ' game was "on" as he started at offense and scored a pair — including a powerplay goal — to give us a 2-0 lead. With only 2:00 minutes remaining in the 1st, Ralz broked down center ice — his shot was blocked, but he pulled the goalie out of position enough that a trailing Wildman put the rebound high to give us a 3-0 lead going into the first intermission.

The Flyers began some aggressive play during the second that led to their only goal of the night after continued pressure in our zone.

With the score at 3-1, the Flyers entered the third period fired-up and continued the intense play and pressure throughout the period. Our penalty-killing and “D” held them off, though, and we blanked them during the final 15:00 minutes.

WON 3-1
