SUNDAYS #3 vs. TEAM BC:

(vol. 39S, no. 3; newsletter by r.n.)
Stolen from the intro to “The Tale of Two Cities”... It was the best of times, it was the worst of times ...

A mere 21 hours after a triumphant renewal of the Piratefest tradition, hosted expertly by Wildman, the Pirates were still hungover. Add to the suffering that Harris was out of the game to fast while repenting for soft goals against, and Gucci appeared to still be lost after his harrowing experiences of trying to find Piratefest and his way home from Harrah's Chester. It is worth mentioning that poor Wildman must have still been cleaning up and ran in late to give us a full ten.

As for the game, we gave up a quick goal and it was apparent that the old coaches rule about no pulled pork the night before a game had finally cost us a victory.

Seriously, it was a night of bad changes, turnovers and missed opportunities. I think we should just mark this one down as the cost of a really great party, compounded by smashing Jets and Giants victories earlier in the day. Goals scorers were Russ and Tim with assists from Dan and Jay. Thanks to Mark (who played well with little support) for filling in for Harris.

Great party, great turnout, bad game.
