SUNDAYS #6 vs. JAGUARS:

(vol. 40W, no. 4; newsletter by h.s.)
There's nothing like a shutout to snap a losing streak ... well, almost.

The Pirates snapped a four-game skid with a commanding win over the Jags and were a mere 1:51 away from the “s-word” when a slapshot topshelf spoiled an otherwise perfect evening.

The Pirates struck first, second and third, taking a 3-0 lead into the break with tallies by Rud, Jay and Ralz. The final period was more of the same as the Pirates scored identical tallies from Rud and Jay with assists once-again going to our Captain.

Both our wins this season have been against the Jags, as we beat them 4-1 to open the season a month back. Although this victory put the Pirates squarely in 5th place, we are still out of a post-season spot unless we grab some additional points in our final two games. The new Playoff structure seeds only the top four teams and the Pirates still trail Team BC by two points in the standings. The final two games will tell the story, but the Schedule gods have not been kind to our Franchise as we face the No.1 and No.3-ranked teams to close out the season.
