WEDNESDAYS #7 vs. BOTTOM FEEDERS:

(vol. 42W, no. 7; newsletter by h.s.)
This was a great game. A week later that's pretty much all I can remember. Let's see ...

I know we went into this game at .500 and had our first chance at turning the corner on what begin as a 1-3-0 season. I also know that we still had two starters watching on the sideline ... literally. Both Scott Miller and Gucci were there and brought ample beverages to the post-game “meeting.” I also remember that Gucci did a fine job of coaching as he barked out line changes from the bench.

In the 1st period, the Feeders scored first at about the 18:30-mark, but Kevin's shot was on this night and he launched a rocket (from just inside the blueline) on the next shift to knot things up 1-1.

The game stayed even until well into the final period. Late in the game, Eddie Gesior would get the puck from LeMatty, carry the puck to the opposite side of the ice and score through a screen to give us the gamewinner. And then the Pirates showed a lot of tenacity as we carried the puck and ate up the remaining time to seal the win —
our third consecutive victory in as many weeks.

Now you know what I mean when I say this was a great game.
